also known as: Amycretin (with semaglutide), Long-acting amylin analog, AM833
Half-life: ~7–8 days
Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analog (2× weekly) developed by Novo Nordisk. Amylin is a co-secreted hormone with insulin that reduces food intake, slows gastric emptying, and lowers glucagon. Combined with semaglutide (as CagriSema), it produced 15.6% weight loss in Phase 2 trials and is being studied in Phase 3 (REDEFINE program).
Mechanism of Action
Binds amylin receptors in the area postrema and hypothalamus to reduce appetite, slow gastric emptying, and suppress postprandial glucagon. Does not act on GLP-1 receptors — complementary mechanism to semaglutide/tirzepatide.
Amylin receptor mechanism is entirely different from GLP-1/GIP — can be combined carefully with medical supervision for additive weight loss.
None listed.
GH secretagogue preserves or builds lean mass during weight loss from Cagrilintide.
GH peptides counteract potential muscle loss during aggressive weight loss.
Storage
Refrigerate at 2–8°C (36–46°F).
