also known as: GnRH, Luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH), Factrel
Half-life: ~2–4 minutes (very short — hence pulsatile use)
Gonadorelin is a synthetic form of GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone) that stimulates the pituitary to release LH and FSH, which in turn stimulate the testes to produce testosterone and sperm. It is commonly used during or after anabolic steroid cycles to prevent or reverse testicular atrophy and maintain natural testosterone production.
Mechanism of Action
Pulsatile administration activates GnRH receptors on pituitary gonadotrophs, triggering LH and FSH release. LH stimulates Leydig cells in the testes to produce testosterone; FSH stimulates Sertoli cells for spermatogenesis.
Enclomiphene blocks estrogen feedback to increase LH/FSH; Gonadorelin directly stimulates pituitary — complementary HPG support.
HCG mimics LH directly at the testes; Gonadorelin stimulates the pituitary — two levels of HPG axis support.
HCG and Gonadorelin both aim to maintain testicular function; using both is redundant unless specifically indicated.
Use Gonadorelin during cycle for testicular maintenance, then Enclomiphene post-cycle for HPG axis restart.
