also known as: IBI362, OXM3, GLP-1/Glucagon dual agonist
Half-life: ~7 days
Mazdutide is a once-weekly dual GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist developed by Innovent Biologics. Phase 2 and 3 trials have shown significant weight loss and glycemic improvement, with approval progressing in China and international trials underway.
Mechanism of Action
GLP-1 receptor agonism reduces appetite and slows gastric emptying; glucagon receptor agonism increases energy expenditure and promotes hepatic fat oxidation, enhancing overall weight loss beyond GLP-1 alone.
Counteracts muscle loss from caloric restriction with GH stimulation.
Tirzepatide and Mazdutide both target GLP-1; avoid combining incretin agonists.
Retatrutide covers GLP-1 and glucagon — redundant with Mazdutide.
Same receptor targets — do not combine.
GH peptides preserve muscle mass during weight loss from Mazdutide.
Storage
Refrigerate at 2–8°C (36–46°F).
