also known as: Mechano Growth Factor, IGF-1 Ec splice variant, Non-PEGylated MGF
Half-life: <30 minutes (very short — key difference from PEG-MGF)
MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is the Ec splice variant of IGF-1, produced locally in muscles in response to mechanical damage (exercise). Unlike PEG-MGF, native MGF has a very short half-life (minutes) and is typically injected directly into the worked muscle (local injection) immediately post-workout for site-specific satellite cell activation.
Mechanism of Action
Activates muscle satellite cells (stem cells) via a unique N-terminal peptide that is distinct from the mature IGF-1 C-domain. Triggers satellite cell proliferation and fusion into existing muscle fibers for local hypertrophy response.
Storage
Refrigerate at 2–8°C (36–46°F). Very sensitive to degradation.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.6% acetic acid.
