also known as: Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Long R3, Long-R3-IGF-1
Half-life: ~20–30 hours (vs <10 minutes for native IGF-1)
IGF-LR3 is a long-acting analog of IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor-1) with an 83-amino acid extension at the N-terminus (Arg3 substitution) that prevents binding to IGF binding proteins, giving it ~3x the potency and a much longer half-life than native IGF-1. It drives muscle protein synthesis, satellite cell activation, and fat oxidation.
Mechanism of Action
Binds IGF-1 receptors on muscle, bone, and fat cells with high affinity. Activates PI3K/Akt/mTOR for protein synthesis; activates MAPK/ERK for cell proliferation. Promotes satellite cell activation for muscle repair. Independently reduces insulin requirement by increasing glucose uptake.
Widely used in sports science research and by competitive bodybuilders. Published literature confirms mTOR activation, satellite cell proliferation, and superior half-life vs native IGF-1.
GH peptides raise GH which converts to IGF-1; adding exogenous IGF-LR3 maximizes total IGF-1 anabolic signaling.
BPC-157 upregulates GH receptor expression, making cells more sensitive to IGF-LR3 signaling.
PEG-MGF activates satellite cells locally; IGF-LR3 provides systemic IGF-1 for protein synthesis — highly synergistic post-workout.
Follistatin removes the myostatin brake while IGF-LR3 accelerates muscle protein synthesis through mTOR.
None listed.
Use local MGF injections for site-specific growth post-workout, then IGF-LR3 for systemic anabolic effect.
Storage
Refrigerate at 2–8°C (36–46°F). Extremely stable lyophilized.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.6% acetic acid. Do NOT use bacteriostatic water alone — causes aggregation.
