also known as: Body Protection Compound 157, PL 14736
Half-life: ~30 minutes in plasma; tissue effects persist much longer
BPC-157 is a pentadecapeptide (15 amino acids) derived from a protective gastric protein in the human stomach. It is one of the most studied healing peptides, with extensive evidence for accelerating repair of tendons, ligaments, muscle, bone, and gut tissue in animal models.
Mechanism of Action
Activates the VEGFR2/Akt/eNOS pathway to stimulate angiogenesis at injury sites. Upregulates GH receptor expression, modulates nitric oxide production, and exerts broad cytoprotective effects. Also modulates dopamine and serotonin systems for mood and gut-brain axis benefits.
Hundreds of animal studies confirm healing properties. Human trials limited to gastroprotective applications. No adverse effects observed across extensive animal research.
The gold-standard healing stack ("Wolverine Stack") — BPC-157 drives early angiogenesis and tissue repair while TB-500 promotes actin-based cell migration.
GHK-Cu adds collagen remodeling and anti-fibrotic effects alongside BPC-157's angiogenesis.
IGF-LR3 adds muscle-specific protein synthesis on top of BPC-157's general healing.
KPV adds direct gut anti-inflammatory action; synergistic with BPC-157 for IBD/gut healing.
