also known as: ERR agonist, Exercise mimetic peptide, Reverse ERR agonist
Half-life: Unknown in humans
SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic agonist of estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, ERRβ, ERRγ) that acts as an "exercise mimetic" — activating the same transcriptional programs in skeletal muscle and heart that endurance exercise produces. Animal studies show dramatic improvements in endurance, fat oxidation, and heart failure outcomes.
Mechanism of Action
Activates ERR transcription factors that regulate mitochondrial biogenesis (PGC-1α pathway), oxidative metabolism, and slow-twitch (type I) fiber gene expression. Produces the metabolic adaptations of aerobic exercise without requiring the exercise itself.
Schnyder et al. (Nature Communications, 2017) showed SLU-PP-332 increased running endurance 70% in mice. Bhatt et al. (2023) showed cardiac benefits in heart failure models. No human studies published.
MOTS-C activates AMPK and mitochondrial metabolism; SLU-PP-332 activates ERR — two complementary exercise-mimetic pathways.
NAD+ fuels the mitochondrial machinery that SLU-PP-332 upregulates via PGC-1α/ERR signaling.
SS-31 protects the mitochondrial infrastructure; SLU-PP-332 upregulates it — together they build and protect mitochondria.
None listed.
Both enhance fat metabolism through different mechanisms — complementary metabolic optimization.
Storage
Store at -20°C (-4°F). Very stable.
Reconstitution
Dissolve in DMSO or appropriate solvent per research protocol.
