also known as: Tα1, Thymalfasin, Zadaxin
Half-life: ~2 hours
Thymosin Alpha 1 (Tα1) is the most studied immunomodulatory peptide derived from the thymus. It is approved in numerous countries (as Zadaxin) for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, AIDS, and various cancers as an immune modulator. It enhances both innate and adaptive immune responses and is extensively used for chronic infections, immune dysfunction, and longevity.
Mechanism of Action
Activates Toll-like receptors (TLR2, TLR9) on dendritic cells and macrophages; promotes Th1 T-cell differentiation; enhances NK cell cytotoxicity; induces interferon-γ and IL-12; reduces Th2-driven inflammation. Acts as a thymic hormone restoring immune competence.
Thymalfasin (Zadaxin) approved in 35+ countries. Xing et al. (NEJM, 1995) showed TA1 improves hepatitis B outcomes. Multiple oncology and infectious disease trials support immunomodulatory efficacy.
LL-37 handles innate antimicrobial defense while Tα1 manages adaptive T-cell immunity — comprehensive immune coverage.
Classic Russian longevity combination: Epithalon for cellular aging, Thymosin Alpha 1 for immune aging.
Thymalin provides additional thymic peptides; TA1 is the dominant active component. Together they provide thymic extract breadth + specific TA1 potency.
This blend already contains Thymosin Alpha 1.
Thymalin contains Thymosin Alpha 1 — partial redundancy; monitor for over-stimulation.
Vilon for thymic hormones; Thymosin Alpha 1 for specific T-cell modulation — alternate in longevity cycles.
